Sorry for the dumb question but, How can I tell how many cores my current rad. has?
I THINK it is the stock radiator for the base 350.
When the cap is off, i notice 4 rows of water tubes, but someone told me that is not how you can tell.
Also, if it is 2 core, can it be recored to 3 or 4 cores, and would I benefit from that?
I'm not really sure but I think a 4 core is the full width of the tanks, a 3 core is 3/4 the width etc. I had mine recored from a three to a four so I would say the answer to part 2 of your question is yes, it can be recored and yes, it should be a benefit (run cooler) provided they are in good shape (your tanks) Hope this helps.
Youy have a 4 core radiator if you can see 4 tubes going across as you look down into the radiator.
My original radiator had 3 tubes (3 rows), but I had it replaced with a 4 tube core.

I go with that :yesnod: . If you see 4 rows it is a 4 core. Mine was also originally 3 but I've upped it to 4. A friend of mine has just had his '69 rad recored at the same place as mine and he's had a 6 core put in..... :yesnod: six. Personally, with my 4 cores, hi-flow aluminium water pump and flex fan my temp won't go over 150 on the gauge.....VettePaul.
