Default Power window conversion

Hi all,

I asked this question in the C2 section but got no response.

Has anyone added an after market power window kit to their Vette? The vendors kits on this site are quite pricey. Looking for cheaper alternatives that work like the original.

TIA.

Why not use the factory installation? The AIMs all show the installation and the parts you will need. You'd get the factory look because it would be a factory installation using factory parts.

While I have yet to install it, I picked up the conversion from willcox on sale. It made the price a lot more reasonable.

I used the Spal power windows- nice heavy duty motors with a cable drive- and think they showed up on my doorstep for less than $125- for the pair.

The only trick was getting the correct gear drive- I found the best way was to drill and pin the gear to the OEM crank-so there's no slipping.
