high beam lever

hi guys ,
i toke my vette to a garage to solve some problems on the dash wiring that i didn't find them on that time, but they are not professional at all , any way when i toke my car from them the beam light lever is not clicking and i found a small metal stick on the floor ,

so my question did any one of you have a guide to let me check and sole that the high beam light is always working and i can't make it low !!

77-82 Corvettes have the high beam switch in the steering column, and controlled by the turn signal lever.

From the OP's post, I'd guess that the nylon portion, of turn signal/high beam switch is broken.
