Just got my car back last week from MPH Fabrication in North Haven CT. I had a 10pt Chrome-Moly roll cage built, custom nitrous bottle mount, and new seat brackets made up for Kirkey race seats. Cage fits car great and I can still use my t-tops and i have plenty of head clearance with my helmet on. (I'm 6ft tall). I had them do swing arms on both sides of car. Cage is suppose to be good down to 8.49 ET
The Fab shop has a pretty good rep so i was on a wait list for about 3months, but when I finally got the car there it was completed in about 4 days.
I painted the cage, put the carpet back in, but i'm waiting on my new cam lock 5pt harnesses to come in before I can put trim and seats back in.
Looks good. Is it bolted in or welded. Looks like it attaches on the vertices panel behind the seats. Where is it connected in the front? Did they have to open up holes in the floor to run the tubes though to the frame?
I'm looking to put a cage in my car.
Thanks,
Rob
It's a 10 point... 2 main hoop, 2 rear down bars, 2 door bars, 2 hoop to tunnel, 2 front bars. 12 point would have bars through firewall to front suspension.

When you look at a rule book like NHRA each "POINT" is considered tubing attached to the frame. Not bars into other bars and the tunnel is not frame.

Its welded in. The fabricator cut out the fiberglass in 4 spots each side of car and cage is welded to frame. The center crossover bar is welded to the metal body brace behind the seats. He used sheet metal and silicone to make patches around all the cuts.
If you don't mind what's something like that cost?
This shop gets $2150 for chrome moly cage 10pt. 6pt roll cage was like $1700 or something. The swing arms are extra and they had a few styles to pick from.
Using the Chris Alston site you reference as a standard, their depiction of a 10pt cage matches what is pictured in this thread. I couldn't find the NHRA definition you mention scanning the rule book, but pretty certain this is a 10 pt cage by standard definition. (agree that it only touches frame at 6 points)
The picture you provided is listed as a 10pt on their site.
Either way, great looking cage and thank you for sharing.

That seems like a fair price, the give you an idea of the weight?
