Hi Bill,
Yes, there's a boomerang shaped shield on each side of the block that protect the wires from the exhaust manifold and pipe heat.

Left side installed.
Left side, spark plug wire shield and spark plug heat shields.
The Right side.

Hi Bill,
Yes.
It's a small sheet metal plate bent so it's 3 sided and is painted black.
It bolts to a threaded hole in the starter brace.
