Dash swap
I recently R&R'ed a friends 77 engine and while test driving it found that I liked his dash with the larger tach and speedo compared to my 81 dash. Just to throw this out there, how hard would it be to change the 81 over to the 77 prior dash? This car will never be able to be brought to original so moding it wouldnt be considered a value killer.

Do-able but boy would it be a royal pita..
You'd need not only three dash pads but you would have to change the center dash bezel. The 77 dash bezel had black ears on the side to hide the dash to shift console area just beside it. The small gauges would work as they are... you'd just have to change the bezel.
Then.. you'd have extra wires you'd have to deal with and sockets.. you'd need to peal out the dash lamp wires and split it off into a tree of sockets to light up the dash.
It would be interesting for sure.
