HELP, secondaries are not opening on edelbrock performer...
The carb is and Edelbrock performer 750…#1407. I know the secondaries are not opening…they are clean as a whistle and dry…while the primaries you can tell are working fine, they have some carbon and you can just tell. The primaries look like they’re being used, while the secondaries look like they did when it came out of the box. I’m also suspecting they’re not opening because I lose power at about 4500 rpm the engine will keep revving up but not healthily, it feels like it’s starved. I rejetted the secondaries richer, but that didn’t do anything which also leads me to believe they are not opening. What can I do? Please help.
I'm thinking of just going with a nice mechanical secondary carb...unless you guys know what else I can do.

I'm guessing they're opening or you woudn't be hitting 4500 running good.
What your experiencing is normal but we can fix it for you hopefully.
Put in your largest jet that you have in the secondaries and see if that helps. If that helps we will go from there, there are lot more tuning tips that we can cover once you get it to rev to the RPM you like.
Also, once you feel fuel starvation back off or your going to damage your motor.
I had almost the same trouble as you after 4000 RPM I had fuel strvation and then went from a 95 to a 101 jet and it took it over 5000 RPM. Then went to the 104 jet and that takes it over 6000 with no problem. I'm running a 600 cfm carb.
Also if you haven't bought the jets yet lets talk, I may have some advice on that topic too.

This is probably a simple mechanical thing. I had the same problem for over a year and thought it was all kinds of problems.
Just do a simple test. Turn the car off and have someone put their foot all the way to the floor and see if the seconds open. Now, there is a little release lever on the bottom of the passenger side of the carb that you need to hold back -- normally this would move back on it's own during WOT but with the car off you'll need to move it out of the way or the secondaries won't open.
On my Edelebrock, the cable was on the upper hole in the lever -- not the right one. It should be on the LOWER hole - which is parallel with the cable - and allows full range.
Re: HELP, secondaries are not opening on edelbrock performer... (Corellian Corvette)
As stated, check your throtle cable adjustment first. Edelbrocks use more throtle lever "throw" than most other carbs. My stock cable wouldn't do the job so I installed one made by Lokkar from the Summit catalog. Also check all operations as Corellian said. I found a tang on the drivers side of mine that restricted the secondaries from full open.
BTW, while your at it, I found (as have others) that the gas pedal itself needed a rebend to get full cable movement.

Ok, I rejetted the secondaries a while ago but haven’t really opened her up since…I did last night and now instead of feeling lean…it sorta hesitates and bogs when I punch it. I know the secondaries are opening because they do get forced open mechanically at about ¾ throttle by some linkage on the passenger side of the carb (I could actually watch them open by giving WOT when the car was in park) So now I have a feeling I rejetted it too rich. I just don’t have the punch up high that I should with this setup (and I did upgrade the coil and 4 pin module in the HEI to the MSD aftermarket coil and module)…It seems like it falls on it’s face at around 4500-5000. Also when I’m in lower rpm range and nail it causing the secondaries to open, it stumbles and bogs regardless of rpm. Anyway, here’s the jets
