Re: Can someone run this combo in Dyno2000? (Scott78)
Just for the heck of it, what are the results with the same combo except for Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, Performer RPM intake ans a 750 carb??? Accoridng to Edelbrock, a 350 can produce 420 HP! A 383 must be very impressive...... :smash:
Re: Can someone run this combo in Dyno2000? (Scott78)
Very interesting. How accurate is the software? Has anyone actually built a motor and compared the two? Does the software assume power at the flywheel?
Re: Can someone run this combo in Dyno2000? (69stingray)
It would be interesting to compare a real world dyno numbers against the same setup in Dyno2000. I've gotten the impression from some posts and articles that it's a little optimistic. This is the combo I'm thinking about assembling this winter.
Re: Can someone run this combo in Dyno2000? (Scott78)
Good I needed incentive to learn how to capture those graphs and charts
I think I got everything right, no 650 choice?? so 660 carb
Scott
Many thanks, that things has some torque. Anyway of starting the graph at 0 to 6500? Also I will also post a real world 383 combo that I have the dyno sheets for. Also they are right because we dynoed that combo, we had pretty must the run of the place.
Re: Can someone run this combo in Dyno2000? (Xracer)
I have compared many (>5) engine buildups/dynos from the Chevy High Performance magazine to Dyno2000 and found that 90% of the RPM points are with 3% of each other and Dyno2000 was never more than 5% off.
Remember, though, that this is gross HP both for Dyno200 and the CHP dyno pulls. If they had any accesseries, it was a water pump (I don't remember if they use an external pump for the pulls).

Wonder how accurate each dyno's places machines are and how they, and how often, they calibrate them. Wonder what diff you would get from place to place.

Joe, I see your starting to think about the engine. Will your car be ready next summer? This one below is simular to my setup. Rod
Ok 383, 750 carb , Performer RPM head XE268 cam small tube headers

Rod,
The car is very close now. Bleed the brakes, get it aligned and we are good to go. I am just kicking around the motor idea. Pat is on me for have a Vette that my 02 Impala LS will kill. But the wife is having a heart attack. The market better come around or I will just be window-shopping.
Re: Can someone run this combo in Dyno2000? (Xracer)
I'm glad you'll be on the road soon. I finally worked on my car Monday night for the first time in months. I'll shooting to be on the road next spring.

John, Let me see if I have any more parts for you. The idea is to work on the vette in the winter and have it finished by the end of March. It's never happened that way for me. Eli is doing great, once we (the doctors) figured out the problem and got him on the right medication he's like a totally different kid. Now it's time to balance work, kids, wife and garage time. Garage time is still limited but we're getting there. Rod
