Default Engine Installation

Getting ready to install new radiator, support, and shroud in 70 coupe, sb, 4sp. Is it possible to install all 3 parts together as one unit or do I have to install them separately? I seem to remember it was a PIA to get the shroud out when I disassembled it a few years back. I have the engine out as well....should I put the engine back in first before I put the rad back in??

I'd do the support, radiator, then the motor and then the shroud. I didn't remove the radiator when swapping out the motor, but the shroud has to be out of the way.

I recently put my engine/trans assembly in my 72'...together......the radiator was left in....but the shroud had to be out.....
The shroud will go in and out....but with some finesse...

I can see your running into trouble trying to install all three as a "unit" but maybe it's able to be done. But I would put the engine in first................

Hi k,
Since your car is as apart as you describe:
I would put the core support in first, then the engine without the fan-clutch or fan, then the radiator, and finally the shroud. Then install the fan clutch to the water pump snout and finally the fan.
I would tape a stiff piece of cardboard to both sides of the radiator core to protect it until the installation is complete.
Regards,
Alan

Radiator next, then shroud, then clutch and fan.

Don't forget the seals on the core support, radiator and shroud.

Is there any issue with putting the engine back in without the rad support. Did I read somewhere that the support was a structural part of the front end???

Ordered the full seal kit from DR yesterday.

It's structural, it holds the front of the nose.
