Yesterday the wiper motor stopped on my 70 vette. Checked it out and the following is what I found. Applied 12 volts to wiper motor at the connector and it worked. Checked power to the other side of the plug and have 12 volts. Jumped across the connector still does not work. Does anyone have any answers that might help? Also where does the power wire at the motor get it power from? Thanks for all you're help, Rob

The early C3's have a windshield wiper motor relay mounted under the shifter plate right under the right **** of the radio. Your relay may have corroded points. I just replaced my relay about 2 weeks ago.

Hey Rob-
When you say "works" do you mean wiper motor runs at high and low speeds- just one speed- and could it be controlled at the switch?
The power goes through the wiper door switch- and that power is controlled by a **** under the dash.
Willcox did a great job document the wiper system- they are pretty complex...
If you need a new motor (like I did), I bought one for my '69 at either Advance Auto or Autozone for something like $60 bucks with an insignificate core charge. I ended up keeping my old motor for whatever reason. I don't know if a '70 takes the same lower priced motor. I do know that a '67 wiper motor is VERY pricey.
thanks for all the reply's. When I put the switch on I hear a clicking. I believe the relay is on the firewall on this vehicle.Trying to attach a pic. Also someone posted a door switch. Are they tied into the door switch ? I did work on the door switches because the door ajar light was not working. Also how is the wiper switch grounded, I heard in the video about grounding the switch. Thanks again,Rob

The wiper door switch on the firewall is associated w/ the **** under the dash -"wiper over-ride switch"- used to stop the wipers mid travel to service the wiper blades/arms. The wiper door switch keeps the wiper motor off till the wiper door is completely open to stop any interference.
As far as door ajar light- its grounded same place as the gauge lights- it's not associated w/ the wipers.
The relay can click all day long- as the constant hot is NOT connected to the relay.
over-ride switch center black ****- make sure this is not turned off and the red wires are fully plugged in
over-ride switch wires-
wiper relay- notice the red hot wires are NOT connected to the relay!!
