i am interested in this as well...my rear body mounts are in bad shape and the dust cover thingy that is riveted to the body is really far gone...so does the body have to come off the frame in order to change the mounts?

If you pln on replacing all of them it can be done one side at a time If the bolts are not rusted in place. I just replaced the rear mount and metal cage on mine. The cage is more than a "dust cover." It is what supports the rear section. It is know to rust out and cause major problems. There was an article in a mag not to long ago that gave pictures on how to replace all of the mounts. I could E-mail you a copy if you need it. Send me a E-mail to bmclau5079@aol.com if you want it.

I replaced all of mine on my '79 with polyurethane. It wasn't that bad. Loosen all of the mount bolts a good bit and raise the body slightly at each mount location using a block of wood between the jack and the underside. With the bolt at that location removed slide out the hardware and rubber doughnut and make note of the number of shims. You'll have to raise the body just slightly more than to remove its weight to disengage a short pilot on the big washers. I recomend going back with all new hardware and shims. I would also recomend the polyurethane bushings, but to each his own. Don't tighten anything until all of the mounts have been replaced and the body is resting on them all.
