When I had my headers and new exhaust installed the guy said he ripped part of the driver side gasket. I am going to replace both with the copper or aluminum ones to avoid all future leaks. My question is which is better copper or aluminum, and what effects does this leak have on my vette other than noise, and popping from O2 getting in. It is interesting that it is also this side of the engine that seems to be running richer as well. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
Hey there Greg! :D
I asked the same question to the Summit tech guy, and he told me the copper are for higher HP and compression motors. Copper is more $$$ also!! I bought the Percy's soft aluminum for my little putt-putt and haven't had any leaks. Even when the header bolts were very loose! How's that monster running otherwise??

Ed. great to hear from you again, it is running very well, I have to play with the jetting to lean it out some but it is a giggle. I started it this afternoon and notice gas dripping from the fron of the carb, I guess the screws to the secondaries got a little loose, over tightened and completely shut off the sec. so will play around with them tonight, at least no more gas dripping, and she fires up right away again, took some cranking before.
