nevermind.... I saved the best for last...
There are basically 3 ways to do it-
I'm working on a 4th one as I finally finished up my wiper idea.
The linear actuator-
Only issue is that it sticks out from the firewall and requires limit switches to control it's movement- plus a two SPDT Bosch type relays since you have to reverse the polarity on the motor. Can also use a current limit device -but more prone to failure.

a little smaller-

and another idea I messed w/ was a cable driven linear actuator

A few have used this...I got it to work as I was interested in clearance of my velocity stacks-

These are great as they as very reliable and electrally very straight forward to wire- no limit switches or reverse polarity switching or current limiters!!!
Bruce AKA "7t2vette" did this- THE BEST WAY!!!

At first I mounted it toward the fender, but it interfered with the good closing properly. So I turned it around. Then I made a tin box to cover it with.
It works great, but I`m not happy because it moves too slow. After watching Richard`s video, I think I`m going to use the headlight motor instead.... so I`ll be ripping this all out and starting over!

see site for an underhood pix.....
