C'mon guys...it's a nice drive to town in a bad boy street car! The owner is experienced in driving stuff like this....I'm sure seat belts were on....in fact before they left I noticed he purposely looked down at his son's lap...presumably making sure.
Yes it fishtailed around some....what would you expect?
If that worries you...you better not ever go riding in mine with street tires on it!
Chris...cool to see someone driving around in a high compression serious engine'd car these days. Everyone talks about the old "Sunoco 260" days when folks had 12-13.0+ compression street toys....well this is the same thing. Race motor cruising around.
The grin on his son's face guarantee's we've got a Hot Rodder for life coming along.
JIM
PS-Yes....I'm sure I'll get slammed for not saying they were being totally unsafe. Oh well.....

sorry, I do not see the "unsafe" part you guys did.. It looked pretty tame to me. 1000 HP could make you crap your pants if that guy wanted... I m with Hotrod, if you think that's scary , don t ride with me when I m feeling the need for speed..
Parents were never terrible until cell phone videos and 24 hour news coverage came out...I doubt there are many of us that didn't have a parent at one time go a little fast in a car with us in it.

Guy could have gotten really crazy with the throttle but didnt, just blipping the throttle will make it get loose. That kids finances are ruined for life hes got the bug now
Love motors like that driving on the st cant remember the last time I heard something similar
Bet hes not worried about a future buyer LOL
The fella didn't have complete control of the car. He had to let off and hit the brake to keep in on the road. Someone who could handle that car would have feathered the accelerator/clutch to keep it stable.

He was just smokin the tires for the kid. The way he has that thing setup it looks like he spends alot of time at the drad strip. Ild be more worried about some kid with a cell phone blowing a stop sign than this guy giving the kid the joy ride he asks for. You can tell that kid wants to drive that car so bad. The grin on his face says it all. My 68 only has lap belts and sometime in the future I need to look at some shoulder belts.
My uncle gave me a ride in his 63 split window when I was 8-10 years old. Screached the tires out of my grandmothers driveway. I didn't know cars could do that back then. I remember that to this very day and always wanted a hotrod after that. After my 68 is paid for my next car will be a 63-65 project I hope

This is a 13.5 to 1 565 that is set up as a Pro Street car. No expense was spared in any area of the project. The build is in excess of $100K and those on the Eastern sea board will see the car at car events. The engine was built here at the shop 2 years ago. The car is a work of art and has won a trophy at the Ocean City MD car show. The cool thing about car guys is .....they are car guys!!!
