I just rebuilt the control valve in my '82, and I was looking under the car to see how I could install a filter in the PS return line. However, I noticed that the pressure line (upper hose) looks odd where it enters the pump. I wasn't able to take a photo, but I found something on the Net that shows essentially the same thing.
Looking at the photo below, imagine both clamps are on the end of the hose at the pump. I know the adjustable clamp must be an add-on, but is the other one factory? I was surprised to see something other than the large crimped end like on the return line.
below is a link with an image of the hoses. Not sure why you feel you need a filter? I have my 1969 car since 1973 and have replaced the control valve once. If the filter clogs and effects flow you may end up damaging the pump. See what others think about the idea. https://willcoxcorvette.com/corvette...ll-block-80-82
Generally, pressure lines have crimped on fitting to deal with the high pressure.
On my 69, the low pressure line is crimped on a preformed tube at the control valve side and just has a hose clamp at the pump (same as the picture above).
It looks like the clamp on the left is the remains of a earlier clamp that wasn't removed completely. Remove it and just use the screw clamp.
