I was at the machine shop this morning when I noticed all of the employees carried pencil tip LED flashlights that are fantastic at seeing into very small places like inside cylinder head ports, fuse blocks, or other hard-to-see-in places. I found out the auto parts store in the front carried them so I bought one for (gulp) $22 plus tax.
Its a "Stylus Streamlight" and it has a single clear LED light bulb powered by three AAAA batteries. Its made out of black anodized aluminum tubing so its very well made and should last damned near forever. It has a button on the rear that can be pushed to get momentary light or the button end can be screwed down to provide continuous light.
For those of you who have a good selection of tools this awesome LED light is a "must have" addition to your tool collection. As my local auto parts store stocks them I would think they would be available thru Amazon or E-Bay for less cost.
Set a record? Huh uh, I'm letting you guys know there are really cool LED pen lights available that really come in handy when you're trying to see something in a dark little place. If my new threads are of no interest to you I suggest you ignore them like any other reasonable person would do and not make a point of making fun of me.
I had one 12 years ago, those batteries were expensive then and using the screw part of the light to keep it on resulted in the spring crushing and the light not working. stretching the spring resolved the issue but still a PITA when you're right in the middle of something.
