ProMaxx is getting raked over the coals from this Professional Engine Builder because they were told their heads destroyed an engine he built. He is a Professional Engine Builder and they need to take care of him as it was the heads fault. He sent this picture along with the seat that had fallen out and the broken valve. Anybody have a issue with this short block build from this Professional Engine Builder?

I think he posted it to show that someone can claim to be a professional engine builder and do something wrong while blaming others for their mistake.
I agree. Pictures and stories like these demonstrate the blame, blame, blame mentality that folks have sometimes.
As well as the simple fact that ABSOLUTELY NOBODY is above making a bone-headed mistake.
I know folks who are made of Teflon...NOTHING sticks to them and NOTHING is their fault. I also know folks who look objectively at a serious issue, don't assign blame to anyone but themselves, identify the problem, and move forward on that is supported by the most evidence and facts.
So when I here I have been building engines for 30 years....well this guy told ProMaxx the same.
He sent the pictures wanting them to warranty the entire build because there heads dropped a valve. I have not mentioned any names. This post is to show the public just because you call yourself a professional doesn't mean anything and it also doesn't mean it is always the parts fault.
Part of the problem is not only did he make the mistake but he was so blinded by his own arrogance and or anger in what happened that he didn't see his mistake. Even after taking a photo of it.
Once and if it became clear it was CYA time. Blame something or someone else.
30 years is just that....it doesn't mean you are above mistakes or that you may even be any good at what you do, only that you've been doing it for a long time.
Hear it all the time "I've been doing this for xx years, I know what I'm doing"...hmmm... maybe, almost as good as saying "hold my beer and watch this".
Many folks who do the same thing for a long time get sloppy, arrogant and complacent. What you do becomes too automated, without thought, and that's when the mistakes start.

The uh "professional" engine builder installed the #4 piston in the #6 hole and the #6 piston in the #4 hole. Oops! Engine assembly at it's finest. I wonder if the cylinder head vendors have told him about the horrific mistake he made.
Everyone is entitled to a mistake but when it happens you have to own it. That's the difference between a professional engine builder and an experienced one. A professional will make good and keep the customer happy no matter what. Just my 2 cents....
A professional engine builder would have caught this if they would have clayed it out....
Everybody makes mistakes.....if you catch it before anyone sees you....it never happened! LOL!

That's true! It`s not a mistake till it leaves the shop....
