Dimpled Headers...Will this affect my performance?
New heads have angle plugs....could not install #6 plug. Purchased short header plug, and still could not install...Dimpled header with large pipe and hammer....Short Header Plug went right in with sufficient boot clearance. Will this (if any) have an affect in performance? :seeya Cappy
Re: Dimpled Headers...Will this affect my performance? (8T1-7T9 BIONIC VETTE)
You did WHAT!!!??!?!? OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH NOOOOOOO!!!! Its no good now! It'll cause uneven temperature between the #4 and #6 cylinders. Either the #6 exhaust valve will get a localized hot spot and want to weld itself to the valve seat or the head ridge between the #4 combustion chamber and the # 6 chamber will warp and cause a gasket leak!!!! So, you'll end up with a warped cylinder head or the need for a valve job in about 2000 miles. What the extreme worst case would be if all of that excess heat traveled across the EGR passageway into the #3 & #5 cylinders and did the same thing to that side cylinder head!
So, the solution to this problem is either 1) buy a new set of headers or 2) let me drive your beast and I'll write a post retracting all of the BS I just said. :D

Oh Wow Lau Lau,
nunus79, you almost gave me a heart attack.....I read the first part, and you had me shaking, till I read the second half......I need slicks.....this thing's a beast now. Way more powerful than the Beck Racing Engine. TH350 Trans, second gear at 25 MPH.....Hit it, and she smokes the tires. Later, I'm going to tear the Beck down and see what's inside....I'm going to Maurice house tomorrow....maybe I'll see you there.
