My '82 has a black plastic strip approximately the width of the hood under the wiper arms. I've looked all through the AIM twice, but can't find it. Does anyone know what page it's on, or maybe how it's supposed to be secured to the cowl? Mine is completely loose and I don't see fasteners or any signs of adhesive.

That sounds like an aftermarket cover for the wiper tray...???

Does the part look similar to this? A photo of the piece would help us.

Main is all original and I don't have that. Definitely aftermarket and most likely used to keep leaves out of that area. Mine being a daily driver I often have to clean out the pocket under the wiper arms.
