Default Spindle to steering rod

I am reassembling my right side front wheel assembly. There are two bolts that hold the spindle to the steering knuckle, one is longer than the other. I am pretty certain that the longer bolt goes at the back side of the spindle and the shorter bolt goes on the front side. Can't find a diagram of this in my AIM, nor can I find anything using the search. Can anyone verify which bolt goes where?

Thanks

I just re-assembled mine about a month ago. If you put the parts together, you will see one requires a longer bolt than the other just due to the distance alone. I hope this helps, I just don't remember which one specifically it was. I can look at it tomorrow if you need more clarification.

Thanks for the help. It seems that either bolt in either location will work? The shorter bolt has more protrusion past the nut when it is used on the front side which makes me think that is where it belongs. Looking at the left side which I have not disassembled yet, it looks like the shorter bolt is in the front and the longer one in back.

Hi,
I believe it's the difference in the thickness of the steering arm that requires the longer bolt be used in the rear hole… or shorter in the front hole as mg said.
Even though the front bolt passes through the bottom hole in the caliper bracket too it's still shorter.
Regards,
Alan
