While traveling at night I have noticed that my headlights tend to bounce slightly or shake. It's not a lot but I can see it and I always wonder if cars coming the other way notice it. Has anyone else experienced this or is this just inherent to my car? Is there a fix for this? Is it the springs that are supposed to hold the light assemblies steady?

I don't have the fix for this, but just want to confirm it's not normal. I owned my '72 BB back when they were only a couple years old. The headlights were absolutely steady. Good luck with her!
Not sure but I believe all cars left St. Louis with them installed but many have rotted/fallen off over the years. My 68 had one missing and one barely holding on.
Okay, I have looked high and low and my car does not have these arms and/or bumper stops. This is very curious as my car is pretty stock, especially in that area. Are these arms supposed to be mounted on the out board side of the light assembly? I only see a couple of holes, in the pot steel frame assembly, on the out board side. I cannot see anywhere else these arms would bolt to. Very curious indeed. Not sure why they wouldn't be there.

Frequently the stop brackets got removed if someone pulled the headlight assy's out. Semi-frequently not reinstalled especially since the headlights still more or less function OK without them.

So I bought some headlight arms/stops off of Fleebay and, after some cleaning and paint, I just installed them. This was absolutely my problem. Now they are steady as a rock. Thanks to all that helped.
