There is no mention of O2 sensor bung. The computer will need O2 sensor reading or feedback to operate correctly.
The 02 sensor elec plug is located on the trans cross over bracket and the sensor bung on the exhause pipe is behind the cat so the headers will fit. All you need is to cut and weld the collectors on. Hope this helps. LWC

You can always order an O2 bung off ebay for 10 bucks and have your local muffler shop weld it on a few inches downstream of the header (if the headers don't come with one already). I've done this several times. Getting ready to do it again on my 82 to install a wideband gauge.
*Edit* I just noticed you are talking about sidepipes. Still can do it but I recommend having it welded on the straightpipe portion not the header. And point it down about 4 o'clock. I did that on my pipes for my 81. Works great.
