Default Serpentine Belt System

I want to install a serpentine belt system on my car and I want to know if it will fit with a dual electric fan set-up on the back of the radiator. Just want to make sure it will fit before I buy one from the Salvage Yard.

The car is a 71 350

Bought my '72 in '95 and so very early on, an '88-91 vette serp drive and modern compressor was installed and that was back in the OEM L48 daze.....today, lets just say it's a tad different, I have the only LT1 FI manifold on earth that kept the old HEI in back......

and yes Dual Spal fans and 17SI 108 amp alt....and a cross support, works like a champ.....

You guys have any pictures of your setups? I want to go to a serpentine system too, but it looks like I will be having to buy an aftermarket one, there not much to pick from at the salvages around here anymore that will work on the 350s. I think think they crush and clear out cars older than 15 yrs unfortunately.

Anyone using the aftermarket ones, what are your thoughts, does it fit with the spreader bar?

What electric fans are you guys using?

Try looking at these. Direct from GM or many others like summit or jegs.

Early Small Block Accessory Drive Package Specifications
Package Part Number 12497698 = With Air Conditioning
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/nal-12497698

Part Number 12497697 = Without Air Conditioning

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/nal-12497697

This may have more parts than you where looking for. Worked great for my 78
See Post# 14 for a better picture.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...n-my-78-a.html

These are from the same year of cars you would find in the junk yards. except for items like the water pump, PS pump etc are GM AC Delco rebuilt units.

Ouch, for that money, may as well get a billet system.

Cagotzmann - love your car.

Gets Expensive if you dont need the A/C, Water Pump, alternator, & power steering pump which is included. But if you need the accessories its not that bad.

When I purchased mine I needed 3 of the 4. A/C gone, Alternator upgrade to support dual fans, water pump for reverse flow. Only thing I didn't need was the power steering pump.

I put a ZZ4 crate motor in my 73 with the serp setup. Clears the electric fans by a ton

Try ebay. I bought my 3rd gen fbody brackets off of there and had money left over to powder coat. Bought water pump and cs144 alternator from parts store. I'm running ford focus fans. No compressor though.

Ebay and Craigslist. You'll find F-body brackets on both sites along with everything else. Ford Focus fans are economical.
