Default Re: Question about C3 convertibles body height (Rick Church)

Rick check to see if they have replacement springs on them and if the link bolts are the original 6" lenght. The replacement springs tend to lift the rear of the car. I had to go with 8" bolts to get the car back down even around.
I looked at cars at Carlisle but they were either overpriced or junk. There was a blue 70-72 conv on a trailer with no nose and ripped quarter panel for $4,000

Hmmm...never noticed that. Maybe they had a new spring and needed to lower it. When I replaced my rear spring the arch made it sit much higher. I installed long bolts from Eckler's and lowered it back down. Mine sits perfectly level. :yesnod:

When I purchased my '71 it had stock susp. It appeared to be the same height as any other coupe or vert I've seen.

Here's a picture of mine. Still has original 7 leaf spring.

Good luck on your search.

Mine sits like Rich75's as well, the other one you saw must have had a new rear spring and not used the right bolt to lower it.
