What year is the car.. if it's 1975 and newer you can fix it yourself with a board.. If it is older I can fix it. 
If it's on your 62 you need to remove the dash cluster to get the tach out.. but you've posted in the c3 section so I'm a bit lost as to the year. (I checked your profile).
