Default Interior Dye/restoration help

I got my hands on a replacement 71 lower shifter console. It has some scratches. If I dye it I'll be forced to do all the interior pieces to match the "newness" right? Or do you think their is a dye out there that might just bring it back to life a bit and will blend in with the existing black interior pieces? thoughts? Comments please. Also, what is the best product on the market to dye the console? Spray can or rub on?

All depends on the condition of the rest of the interior, i would sem dye and do a sample to see how it looks. All coros are different some match to the old some are alittle off.

Forced? No. You can decide which way you want to go after it's restored and installed.

Hi R,
In the worst case if the newness of the black on the shifter console bothers you you'd just have to dye the 2 forward extensions and the e-brake console too.
They'd match each other then.
Even originally the shifter console was black padded vinyl while the e-brake console was painted interior black so they always looked 'slightly' different.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

I dyed my new replacement parking brake console green and it matched the rest of the interior near perfect. Don't skip the primer phase and use several thin coats.

SEM satin black is good for vinyl parts, and Landau black for metal pieces(bezels etc.)
