Steering box bushings
This is probably a dumbass question but I'm gonna ask anyway. Anybody know where I can get "ream to fit bushings" for the sector shaft? My box needs a re-build but I'd like to make it as precise as possible. Looking to achieve .001-.002 shaft side play. Thanks in advance.

They will have to be custom made. The new bushings you buy are already loose so there is nothing to ream to fit. All 63-82 steering boxes have a 1.250 bore and the shaft is 1.120. But they will vary as much as .010+ or -. You need to post your actual dimensions to have the bushings machined. Also the stock bushing are 1.5 in long. They need to be 2.00.
