2 fusible links at my horn relay are really ugly. The wire seems intact and everything works, but the rubber jackets are deformed/melted?
I can find 16ga replacements, but not 20ga. Seems to be a odd ball size?
Any one have a source?
i just looked and they have 16 gauge fusible links.

One original link is a 20ga as shown in 3 different wiring diagrams.
I would like to replace it with as close to factory original as possible.
12,14,16,18 gauges are readilly available at most parts stores.
The GM wiring diagrams show the fusible links as length of wire with large black dots connecting to regular wiring. They also specify the size of the regular wiring and the size of the links. Use what is called out on your diagram. Also, use only correct fusible links...ones that have non-flammable insulation and connecting terminals. The intent of the fusible link is that the smaller wire in the link will burn/melt before the larger regular wire in the circuit and force loss of power (to save damaging major components). But hot wire will cause normal plastic insulation to catch fire. Insulation and terminals on a fusible link MUST NOT BE FLAMMABLE.
Install fusible links...not fuses or circuit breakers. The smaller wire can handle very short bursts of high current without damage; fuse/breaker will just trip.
