CRC Brand is all we carry and it's the best on the market place.

I am wrapping up replacement of t-top WX strip and the "edge trim" piece and got both through Wilcox. In fact, I had issues with the trim piece and Wilcox put me in touch with the manufacturer. I had a couple of conversations with the trim edge installer about technique and they were quite helpful as well.

Thanks for the info, but what comments did they have that were quite helpful?

When applying the trim piece, made of rubber, you will find that it is larger (length) than the surround of the glass edge. The technique is to work it onto the edge before securing with glue. I found I had to keep working it around the edge while compressing the trim and finally I got it to where I want it.

In regards to the weatherstrip installation...

You want to make sure you have all the old glue off the roof panel, make sure you clean the new weatherstrip of mold release. Apply a thin coat of 3m glue to the roof panel allowing it to dry, apply a thin coat of 3m glue to the weatherstrip and allow it to dry.

As you work around the top to install the weatherstrip you'll apply a small amount of the glue while working the weatherstrip in place.

Work the weatherstrip around from one side to the other applying some painters tape as you go to retain the strip in place. You'll have to pull the rubber in some places to get the pins to align but if you glue and tape it this won't be any problem.

Tom just did this so maybe he can add his suggestions to what I've posted above.

Yeah.....

Listen to Tom (hunt4cleanair), He's a very sharp guy with these cars.

His instructions about pinching it up will work for this perfectly.

hunt4cleanair thanks. As you said the trim is larger than the glass panel. I assume I am to cut the seam at the corner, trim the corner and re-glue. Then glue the entrie seal o the glass panel?

You have to push it around to take up the slack, you don't need to cut them. Start at the corner opposite the gap and push inward toward the corner, you should be able to get rid of the slack. Hopefully Tom will chime in too.

The strip is pressed on completely with no gaps. You did see the attached photos? If I push it to the inside it falls off the other side.

NO Cutting

As Wilcox describes it, you are pinching and squeezing it around the edge until it snuggles in. Don't cut it or you less the continuity. It will rest in place as you knead it into place. Its like working with dough.

And you don't glue it until you have it settled in. On the second one, I left it when it did not want to settle into place and finished it up a week later. Patience...Indian giver...patience!

Quiote honestly I do not see how this large of a gap can be "massaged" in.

Guys, I see no way that "massaging" will make this fit. Unless this material is going to shrink dramatically.

Gents, with a little "patience" I now understand what you meant on moving the material around. I fits just fine now. Sorry for the drama, been a tough day at work and just want to get my toy out. Thank you for your help and your patience!

Drama??? Where.. lol..

I'm going to guess I don't need to answer that email you sent to me..

Patience is your friend... and so is Tom..

I'm glad you got it figured out and honestly, without the feedback from Tom's installation I'd be lost on this. Tom was the first person to have a "reported" issue and I suppose most would just cut and glue them vs. asking questions. Because of Toms issue, we now we know how to answer the question should it arrive in the future..
