I wouldn't touch the ECM unless you want really get into your own tuning. The original ECM worked fine for me. I did replace the original PROM with Hypertech PROM Street Runner, it seemed to help slightly. But if you really want to replace the ECM, you'd be looking at replacing it with these units; GM1227747 or GM1228746. But then you'd need a Harness Adapter Module to eliminate wire cutting / splicing. You can probably find more info doing an internet search, but it seemed way too much work to me.
You all a joking right? Have you ever seen the ports on a cease fire intake? And you honestly recomended aftermarket heads? You will spend forever trying to match those ports and it's still garbage.the renegade intake may help but I'd explore any other way I could including a carburetor. Sorry I know people love those intakes ,but it really was a bad design.chevy thought so much of it that they kept it 2 years.
Your right it was a bad design but for some unknown reason I want to keep it stock looking . I already purchased the Renegade intake so I’m going to make the best of it .
Renegade intake, higher psi and volume fuel pump, retune ecu and upgrade exhaust. These will all do more than new heads. New chip is reprogramming ecu.
180 afr heads are Ca legal....your voodoo cam renegade intake with that would run very hard. Swap headers ea 2 yrs or stick some shortys modded to your cats.Youll like that cam and will pass smog btdt.
Great torque
