Nevada Silver Paint - How to Match
How are you guys purchasing your paint? Just having the local paint shop mix to the code?
I'm not debating the greenish tint to the Nevada Silver but do want to mention that if you're seeing actual "original" paint you're looking at VERY different paint than you can buy now….. and I don't just mean the color/tint.
The metallic particles that are in the original acrylic lacquer you may be seeing are VERY different than the metallic available today.
Also, the way the metallic particles were suspended in the acrylic lacquer is somewhat different than how the metallic is suspended in today's paint.
From what I read and hear it seems the silvers are about the most difficult colors to get to look like the older paint.
I'm mentioning this just so you're aware that matching the paint that's on your car in places may take more than just a couple of samples, plus, you're probably going to want to see some test panels if you're very particular about the finished appearance.
Metallic paint, (especially silver), is notoriously sensitive to just how it's sprayed.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan
