Default Crossfire running query

Hi guys

Been to have a look at an 82 collectors here in the uk.

One query I have is that the tickover seems a little high.

Also (and my main concern) is that when blipping the throttle it seems to delay in dropping down to tickover speed. Almost like a sticking throttle.

Question is are these on a cable throttle or "fly by wire" set up. How easily adjusted is the tickover and what could be causing it to delay in dropping back to tickover speed ?

Any advice appreciated !

Regards.

Dave

The delay is caused by the IAC motors screwing their pintle valves in and out and that's normal for the CrossFire Injected engines.

Ah thanks so it sounds normal behaviour then.

Cheers

Mine runs higher (a little above 1K) when the engine is first started. It takes about five minutes to slow to a normal idle speed, longer if the weather is cold.

Thanks all, the idle was high in general , hot and cold also delayed dropping to idle after blipping the throttle . However, annoyingly the car I was looking at has sold whilst I went away to think about it and do some research ! Advice is worth knowing though so thanks very much for the help. I will get a Vette sooner or later ;-)
