Evap Emissions Controls...it's that charcoal cannister and the two hoses to the carb/manifold....and one to the tank check valve and then a hose to the tank up top on driver's end....canister is under driver's fender, inside the side scoop....
Thanks Mrvette. I think all the EEC stuff has been removed. I need a gas tank for my '72 so this info is important. I'll just tell him NO EEC!!! It's not the original motor....Thanks again

It's the hot air that regularly emanates from the EU Commission in Brussels. You'll know when you have it as all your taxes will increase, they'll insists that you'll be a 3rd world Country if you don't join the Euro, the unelected Commissioners will be able to overrule your elected Politicians, stringent type approval laws will be proposed for vehicles, you'll be a marked man if you own a classic, the Imperial measurement system will be outlawed....
What engine parts do I look for? ('72 AIM is on it's way)
Thanks

Oh, er, sorry Eddie, you meant the Charcoal cannister :bb If your fuel tank or cap vents to the atmosphere then you won't need the cannister, but your garage could smell strongly of fuel (mine does :( ).
Boy oh boy Paul. Sure made me glad I'm livin in the USA!! If you feel so strongly about these issues... the house two doors down from me is for sale. Be glad to have you as a neighbor. Both of us tuning our cars at the same time will empty the neighborhood in a hurry.
Thanks for the tip on the tank. You are right....my garage smells like a refinery now that the '72 took up residency there. Silvia (77) is holding her nose!! :jester
Just thought I'd let you know... the Harley is sold, and the buyer is comming 850miles to take her home tomorow. :cry :cry I just don't ride enough to make the investment worth while. I have a new passion now... GEEE...wonder what that is??? :jester :jester Thanks for your reply.
Eddie
I'd love to buy that house & help you clear out the neighborhood. Ahhh... if only it were that simple :)
My garage stinks so bad of fuel that I'm going to hook up the cannister again. I like to sit late at night with a smoke just looking at the Vette (coz I still can't beleive that it's mine!), but the smell is so bad that I daren't light the ciggy
You've sold the Harley? I really hope that you don't live to regret it, but I've got to admit, for the 1st time in 20 years my Bonnie is covered in dust due to lack of use! It's these darn C3's - they're just so addictive (maybe they should be sold with a Government warning: "HM/FED Government Warning: BUYER BEWARE. This motor vehicle is HIGHLY ADDICTIVE. Purchase of this vehicle may damage your wealth" ).

Why wouldnt you want the EEC on your car - It isnt all that expensive - keeps your car from stinking up your garage - and doesnt rob you of any power. thats right an emissions item that doesnt cost you power. so why not?
that way, if like another member, you want to lounge about in your garage and smoke a cig while admiring your car - you dont have to worry about launching your garage into next week.

You have a point there fauxrs. i purchased the car with all the EEc stripped off, and could easily replace it. I'll inform my gas tank vendor to send appropriate tank.... thanks for the suggestion..
