Issue with pulling headers off 75 L-48
Trying to pull my headers off my 75 L-48 4 speed and I am having problems getting the driver side off. They where on the car when I purchased it and now I am trying to clean up the engine bay and want to pull headers and wrap them.
It looks like I need to pull the cross shaft (connected to clutch pedal) off to get the header to drop out. Once you loosen the 9/16 bolt on the cross shaft and disconnect the linkage, does the c/s just pull away from the engine?

Header removal
Yes the "z" bar (cross shaft) will pull off the pivot ball that is threaded into the block once the nut is removed off the frame bracket.
