[QUOTE=Metalhead140;1591833357]My 79 when I bought it, stock gymkhana suspension, rear sitting a bit low due to flogged spring bolt bushes, 255/60r15s on all 4 corners:
And as it sat in January after a complete suspension, brakes, steering and rear end rebuild, at [B]17x9.5 wheels with 255/50r17s on all 4 corners. Just over a coil cut off each front spring, shortened main leaf and 8" spring bolts in the rear.
I have just put 275 50 17 tires on 17 x 9.5 wheels and the rear spring is very close to the inner wheel rim. I have a fiberglass rear spring and what is the standard size spring bolt on the spring. If I could shorten the bolt it would lift the spring away from the inner wheel well.

My 79 came from the factory with 255/60-15 tires and so did many others.
I have the 550 front springs with3/4 of a coil cut. I have the 360 pound rear spring. It sits nice and low up front but haven't had any problem.
Years ago an old spring guy told me a good rule of thumb is if you want to lower it say 1 inch cut 1 inch off the total height of the spring. Always worked for me.

Shorter spring bolts will raise the car. You really need a shorter spring. As I had the original gymkhana steel spring, I disassembled it and shortened the main leaf. Not sure if you can shorten the fibreglass springs easily?
I now understand and have mostly corrected my ride height issue. Still waiting on my VB&P 360# rear monos which will complete this process. Front is sitting nicely at 27 inches and when my new rear spring comes I should be able to drop the rear to my desired height. Probably between 1 to 1 1/2 inch drop.
Attached is how it sits right now without the new rear mono spring.
