Default Stingray Emblem Removal

There are no Tinnerman washers holding the posts, so it appears that the emblem is held on with adhesive only.

I see the risk of breaking if I just start prying on it. Even if I pry on the emblem directly over the posts, it seems risky.

Now, it's coming off because of a complete strip & paint job, so I'm not overly concerned about damaging the paint in case a good working adhesive solvent is applied. I don't know which solvent works best.

Any thoughts on this will be appreciated.

FWIW, I've had complete success in removing the subject emblem by using fishing line, "sawing" the joint between adhesive and body. You'll need to re-start the process each time you encounter a stud/pin. Use of a heat gun might make it easier, however, I didn't want to risk damaging paint with heart so I did it without heat.

You, my friend, are a very smart cookie!

As far as your FWIW; One, and maybe even TWO broken emblems might cover it.

redrdstr72, thank you very much.

Heat gun and a single-edge razor blade did it.

Gotta love the CAVU. After the past few weeks, I'm ready for some CAVU.
