70 Corvette Non EEC Tank
I have A Non ECC 70 Corvette 350 HP That I am selling. It is Number Matching except for the Intake and Carb, buy the way the PO removed and installed SP-2 Intake and Edelbrock Carb 40 years ago
and let the Original Carb and Intake lay out side behind his garage need less to say the originals were not usable. My Question is I discovered
a pin hole in the non ECC Tank, Will A ECC Tank fit and does the ECC tank have the Pressure Valve that is to the Left of the Filler Neck. Reason is the ECC tank from what I have been seeing is Cheaper and the Buyer is not concerned about Numbers. Oh I also was able to Save the Build Sheet and its legible.
I'm pretty sure that all 4 of the late 69-74 tanks have that flat metal valve, in the top of the tank. The difference in them is the number of vents, the side the vent(s) are on and whether or not they have the side bracket to mount the fuel separator on.
I agree with gb.
In looking at the Quanta tank descriptions and pictures for 70 tanks BOTH the EEC tanks and the non-EEC tanks have the 'button' relief valve near the filler neck opening.

Alan

I think that valve is for looks "Duh" . I Decided being that this is a # matching Car and I found the Build sheet I will get the Correct Tank to keep it as close to Original as possoble. I would think the Build Sheet could bring a another 2k I hope Lolol. Thanks again Guys.
At least on the Quanta tanks the button valve is very real.
It's spring loaded but only moves about an 1/16" to a 1/8" from closed to open.
