Default parking brake relocation

I'm looking for pictures or info on moving my parking brake bracket to top of trailing arm. I've searched but couldn't find any posts about it. I've recently put some torq thrust 15x10 with M/T ET slicks on. They clear the leaf springs and trailing arms seem ok. I'm sitting up against parking brake bracket. Trying to avoid using spacers as these tires will only be used on track. Thanks for any help you can give.

Hello Jeff,

This is the way I did it. I cut the bracket with a thin cutting disc, relocate it on top of the arm at a slight angle toward the cable U shaped bracket and tagged / welded it.
I did find that it was important to relocate the cable guides as well. the angle of the pull was wrong on my arms.

Here's a couple I took while doing mine. I did the same as above, removed them with a cutting disk and relocated on top of the arm. I didn't have to move anything else. Mine are closer to the front of the arm, I thought that kept it further from the brake hose, and also brought my handbrake back into an adjustable range... Makes the bend on the handbrake cable tighter though.

Ready for welding:

Tyre clearance:

Are you sure the handbrake is your only issue? I also had to shorten the spring and rebend the swaybar on my car to clear my 17x9.5s. I thought they'd clear everything but the handbrake cable when I first fit them up, but once I relocated the handbrake brackets I discovered the spring hit, and then once it was modified I found the swaybar was scrubbing on the tyre... All worth it though!

Not to change the topic but...

What is the back spacing on your wheels?

not sure of back spacing. I told local wheel place what tire I was using and problem I was having and he suggested this wheels. I originally tried rally wheels and that wasn't going to work. I'm thinking of going with a 27x10.5 wheel instead. Will give me some extra room but will still have to move bracket

I've noticed that you moved brackets while off car. Can I do this on the car or will I not be able to weld bracket to top?

I'm sure you can, don't see why not. I was rebuilding the rear suspension (including trailing arm bushes) at the time.

You can totally do it on the car still. I did mine that way (I tacked them then tested the cable to make sure it wasnt a weird angle or something). Good luck!

I was under the car yesterday and thought this picture might help. As I said, I have a tight bend on the cable, but I spent a lot of time freeing it up and lubricating it when I had it all apart and haven't had any problems with it. It does keep it nicely away from the brake line. It looks much closer in this pic than it is, no worry of rubbing whatsoever.
