Toe in

I screwed up. Toe in was correct at about 1/8", but not happy with the steering wheel not being centered. Read the posts, but did something wrong. Toe in is now over an Inch. What I would like to do is center the steering wheel, then adjust both front wheels from the center of the car to 0 toe in and then readjust to 1/8". Is this doable? I can put the front wheels on pieces of rug with furniture movers to give me more accurate readings. Is there a better way?

The best way is to take it to a competent alignment shop with a good 4 wheel alignment system. You sit in it and center the wheel and they do the rest.
