Hi bby,
Have you checked to see if the choke is hooked up properly AND is 'setting' when you push the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor before you turn the key?
Regards,
Alan
Hi bby,
You're saying it's not at high idle when you first start it? It begins high idle of it's own accord?
Is some or all of the 71 CEC system hooked up?
High idle is really controlled by the accelerator linkage on the carburetor.
The choke really controls the a/f mixture at start-up the linkage controls the idle speed.
Have you checked to see if that's all in place?

Alan
