Alright, more rookie stuff here. Am looking on to my next section of work on the '68 Coupe, 327 4spd. AM planning to replace my #2 & 3 body mounts on the frame. However, looking at the transmission saddle I see this:
To me the tab on the passenger side appears to be broken and a part missing. Am I correct in the perspective? If so I am guessing I will have to fabricate a part to replace it. Would there be any considerations on the size of angle iron I use to make this part? Any other insight or comments are welcome! TIA Andy
Hey Andy, I got a pair of the trans bracket "ears" from Zip. The ones on my 68 had cracked at the welds underneath to the frame. I have not installed them yet but look like they should do the job.
Chris
Hi Andy,
Yes the one tab has been broken.
The bracket for the rear transmission mount bolts to it.
Regards,
Alan
Alan - Thank you for confirming what I was thinking! The picture will be a great help when I get my tranny back and start looking at that bite of the elephant too!

Chris - thanks for pointing me to Zip! I will ordering new caged nut body mounts for numbers 2 and 3 and a passenger side end cap, so I may just make it all one order! Send me a pic when you get yours on!
