Default Tach Board Replacement.

1975 Coupe.

I'm about to install the tach board and saw the Wilcox video so my question is, where are most of you that have done this repair getting your 12V supply from to do the zero reset?

If it from a 12V adaptor, the auto battery or are you using the alternator supply?

What ever 12 volt source you have available, I have done it using the alt bat terminal, a spare battery and also a 12 v wall adapter.

I used a spare motorcycle battery that I use for testing.

We use a power supply but any 12 volt option you have will work. If you use the alternator you can also run a spare wire to the signal terminal and make sure the board is working properly before you do the re-install. (just run a wire from A to B as shown below) Doing a re-install on your car is no easy task so it's best to test first.
