200r4 swap

Is there any way of putting a 200r4 tranmission in an 80 corvette without buying a new crossmember ?

Use the same crossmmember, just unbolt the bracket that holds the TH350 mount. Under it is 2 holes that match the TH2004R mount. You can reuse the same driveshaft, it's the right length.

It appears to be welded on !

It is welded on 80-82. It does not unbolt .. you can modify it or simply get one from the usual vendors, PTC TCI Bowtie OD, Monster Trans.. Not expensive
