Found this on a German site, work done again by ACP-Euskirchen (the guys w/ the brembo & koni coilover kits and the C3's w/ partial Dana44 differentials and modded trailing arms)
Twinnie, do you have any idea/experience how hard/ easy it would be to accomodate 80-82 rear in to 1979? That set up shown abowe is real killer, I want one! :yesnod:
You'll need to remove the stock diif crossmember and weld 2 ears on the frame, not that hard. The front mounting point is the same.
You can see the 2 ears here
Mounting pad on the diff:
On the pic above they simply drilled holes in the diff cover, there already are some spots there in the castings that can be drileld & tapped.
They are visible here (4 of them)
The U shaped bracket is custom, the upper ear for the camber rods is off a C4.
If you need measurements for the ears on the frame, let me know.
Do they sell the Kit? There is a kit from Guldstrand for 68 to 82 (80 to 82 is slightly different). The kit uses rod ends for all links.
Note that this is much more that the six link talked about by some forum members that just adds another link above the half shafts to act as the upper link. The kit from Germany and the Guldstrand kit and true multi-link suspensions. The one from Germany shows the links to the diff are used for toe control which is a fault of the standard C3 suspension. When you go to the toe adjustments/links as shown, the control arm can no longer be fixed to the frame. It's not shown in th pic, but I'm sure the spindle mount has links from it to the frame so that toe can change as the suspension moves up and down.
Don't know, I suppose they do. It's not listed on their site, then again not much is. I found it on one of their customer pages (the blue 82 w/ the LS1 in it, posted that one here too some time ago)
This suspension is almost idential to the C4 suspension w/ the only difference being that the C4 has 2 dogbones, this one hsa 1 trailing arm 9modified to accept the koni coilovers)
Maybe you can buy the bracket & rods straight from ACP
You know their pages right ( http://www.acp-euskirchen.de )
They're the ones w/ the brembo, koni and Dana 44 stuff.
Marck
yeah got it covered, I received an offer on coil overs and brembo set up from them some time ago. I bet they would do the 6-link conversion too. :yesnod:
