1975 Corvette Wiring Replacement
I am starting to look at replacing the wiring on my 1975 Corvette 4-speed without the without seatbelt interlock system. I have the body off the frame right now and I figure it would never be easier than replacing it before I put the body back on the frame. The wiring looks pretty bad between dry rot, Mice, and just time in general. Also, I believe someone hooked the battery up backwards (neg to positive) and it now is just dead now when I hook up a battery. My question is has anyone gone this route before and is $1300 the fixed price for a Corvette harness? I noticed all the big suppliers charge about the same price. Does anyone know what would happen if you did hook up the battery backwards and should I just try and repair the old harness and whatever got fried when the battery was hooked up wrong? I know it would be money well spent on buying a new harness, even if I need to wait until I raise the money for a new harness.
Any advice I would greatly appreciate!!!
Thanks

Locate and remove the 'silver relay' on the passengers side firewall.

With the orange base still on the firewall, you can make a jumper and plug it into the receptacles as shown.

If you want to hide the bypass, remove the orange base and connect the light green to the purple.

For the battery being connected in reverse, start by checking the fusible link at the starter and let's see what else got fried.
