Default Coolant Sensor Location

I got this new temp sensor for my engine coolant. The problem is- it's 1/4 NPT. The current one is 1/2 NPT mounted in the intake. Do I just drill and tap a new hole, or is there another place to mount it? Thanks

There should be a location in each head, probably plugged right now if your temp sensor isn't in there. IDK the size, but a GM sensor is available in either size.

I have AFR 195 Eliminator heads. Do they have these too?

I have those heads. Yes, they do. I had to have on of mine drilled and tapped for the larger original sender.

Know what I did? I went to Home Depot and got a brass bushing - 1/2 thread on the outside, and 1/4 thread on the inside. Perfect!

Yes, one can do that when the temp sender is smaller than the hole.
