What should my '72 L48 w/ auto trans idle at when warm?
In neutral its at 900, stopped in gear 600. Pulling away from a stop I get a slight hesitation and feel like I have to feather it to keep from stalling.

Is the accelerator pump good?
With the engine off remove the air cleaner, hold the choke open and move the throttle linkage and see if you get two streams of gas squirting into the carb.
