My friend has a 92 Mustang with a coyote motor and a monster turbo that runs 9s and he drives it to work and anywhere else without any problems. He does run it on e85 most of the time but he wired a flex fuel sensor into the computer so if he puts 87 in it and stays out of the boost if goes into low octane fuel tables. It's a pretty awesome setup. People say it makes less power than race fuel but he said his car makes more power. Yes it takes more but it runs cooler and supresses denotation so you can run more timing and make more power.

My car is 12.5:1 and I run it just fine on av gas. It's fairly cost effective but not available at all in the car since no airport will let me pump it directly into a car. It sucks I want to take my car on the hot rod power tour or local car club cruises but I have to map out the mileage or have someone follow me with fuel. E85 is on almost every corner now, very cost effective but our cars are not setup for it at all.

My friends car isn't daily driven and he does have some issues with water collection. He does say he has to change his oil more often because of it. His car has stainless lines and a fuel cell which our cars do not. Noone even makes a direct replacement stainless tank for the c3. If I could find one I would probably converted already.

The things that do concern me are that now e85 isn't very far off from regular fuel prices so how long will it have sat in the tank and how much condensation will it have picked up.

Many years ago when amzoil was a new product one of their distributors talked a friend into using it in an alcohol dragster. The engine locked up solid after the first run. The guy that supplied the oil insisted it wasn't his products failure. A chemist from amzoil said that alcohol fuel would contaminate the base stock of the oil and should never be used with their product.have things changed ? Maybe ,but I'd be careful and have an oil analysis done to see what's happening to your engine.I've run synthetic oil in gasoline powered engines since it first was widely distributed.
I had a Lincoln mark IV with a 512 cu in engine that couldn't pass emissions. So I changed the jetting drained the synthetic oil put 5 gal of alcohol in it and passed with flying colors and got an alternative fuel exemption. But I got that stuff out of the car within 20 miles.a week later a rubber hose on my gas tank started leaking.
If you want to use the stuff keep an eye on stuff, things can go bad quickly.
