Default Dougs Sidepipes Install

Wondering if anybody has any pointers for this situation:

I bought a set of Dougs side headers and side pipes, as well as the glass pack muffler insert.

Header install was amazingly easy and went very smoothly, only took a few hours total.

The hard part has been installing the side pipes on the body. I know where the holes are along the frame, but the set up with nuts and washers and plastic insulators does not make it easy to get to get everything lined up without dropping the t-nut inside the frame. There doesn't seem to be enough thread to actually get things going. I'm about to try preassembling everything and then lining up and tightening down the nuts, but if anybody has any experience can you please share?

Also the muffler insert was very difficult to get pushed down all the way in to the side pipe so I had to use a block of wood and a hammer to make sure fit all the way in. I am assuming that's normal but if I ever want to change the muffler would be impossible to get it out of the side pipe.

Thanks guys! Pics attached.

Side pipe installation is a pain. but yours look real close, I have Hookers and there the worst. You might have to bend the tabs a little, most need bent. I don't tighten the header bolts, let them loose, till the bolts and rubbers are in the frame and snug, don't over tighten. A little superglue on the inside rubber mount to the shoulder of the bolt will stop it from falling into the frame. don't glue the rubber to the frame as this needs to move. after the side mounts are in then tighten the header bolts, start the engine and run on hi idle and retighten while hot, this will allow the headers to bend slightly and your done.
P.S. heat protection gloves help from burning your hands.
