LS Differential lube in a '68 diff?
Anyway, I could go out and buy some GM additive and put in the Red Line or Pennzoil. But, I'm thinking the LS 90W already has an additive package and may work just fine in an old diff.
Has anyone tried new style GM LS diff lube in our older stuff, or have thoughts on why it either might or might-not work well?
Perhaps even the Chrysler lube. It goes in my limited slip '12 Grand Cherokee. I forgot I'd already gotten enough to do a change and bought more. I'm not due another change for quite a while. I know Gary (GTR1999) used 75W-145 in all his builds. I could use their mix or use their base and get some GM additive.
I'm thinking worst case I do a fill with it, drive it a few miles, do some figure 8's and see what happens. They're both correct weight full synthetic so it isn't going to burn up. If it chatters or binds , I could flush it and put in old school lube. Thoughts?
